Rosenthal Art Deco Pottery

In 1879, Philip Rosenthal opened a porcelain manufacturers at Selb in Bavaria. The Art Deco era inspired the production of figures designed by leading artists such as Fritz Glimsch, Gerard Schliepstein, T. Karner, Rudolph Marcuse, Ernst Wenck and Ferdinand Liebermann.

After the death of Philip in 1937 he was succeeded by his son (also called Philip) who carried on the tradition of employing the services of contemporary designers.
